Monday Blog Hop

November 14, 2010 at 11:59 pm 13 comments

Today, I’m trying something new.  I’ve been discovering so many great blogs, and this seems the easiest way to share them with you.  I hope you’ll participate! You never know which great blog you’ll find!

Here’s what to do if you’ve never blog hopped before. Click on one of the images. It will take you a blog post listing all of the blogs participating. There will also be instructions in the post.

I’ve also added a tab to the top of the blog with other great bloghops, and another tab with my blogroll.

Make it a great Monday!

Thanks for visiting and commenting at my blog. I wanted to welcome you and hope to see you there again some time.
I see from your previous posts, that you are struggling with weight loss too. It´s something I´ve been trying to do for a few months now. Some weeks with more success than others. Right now, I´m needing a motivation “push” in the right direction. Hopefully reading your blog will help. 🙂
    Have a good week!

Hi Betty, often when you’re going through a journey like ours, you can think you’re alone, but you only need to look around you to see so many people cheering for you! I’ve certainly found some wonderful bloggers doing the same thing as me, and I have been motivated by reading their posts.

I appreciate you stopping by, and look forward to supporting each other as we get healthier!
      Cheers

@Girlfriends – I love “zany”! I completely agree. I think you have taken a huge step here to set a goal and log your progress. 🙂 Funny @”Yummy Mummy” Your son might act embarrassed, but he’d be so proud!!! I look forward to checking up on your progress. Good luck! ~Jamie

Thanks for stopping by! You asked about the Son of Double Dog challenge. It is being hosted by Allan (blog: Almost Gastric Bypass). This challenge is a follow up (or phase II) to the first Double Dog Dare You Challenge.

The SDDDY (Son of Double Dog Dare You) rules are roughly:

Stay at your daily caloric intake equal to that of your ideal weight. (Allan had us calculate that as IDEAL WGT x 11 … so in my case, my ideal weight is 145, and 145 x 11 = 1595, so I aim to keep my daily calories to no more than 1,595)

Drink at least 64 oz of water daily (that is eight, 8-oz glasses), plus enough additional liquid to maintain proper hydration. This figure varies, depending upon one’s current weight. You can check out Allan’s blog for how he calculated that one.

You should read his blog for other details, look back at his posts arond Nov. 5, 6 and 7. He posts multiple times a day, so you may have to read through a few to get to the instructional ones.

The SDDDY runs until December 8. The challenge isn’t easy, but it isn’t terribly long, AND gets me through the Thanksgiving holiday! So far, I’m doing great – but those first 3-4 days are tough. It does get easier after that.

That’s a really great idea. I love discovering new blogs although I admit, it can also be kind of overwhelming. There are so many out there and a lot of them are amazing!
