5 Reasons Why I Won’t Feel Frustrated Today

November 19, 2010 at 8:26 am 27 comments

It’s Friday, my weigh in is tomorrow, and I was starting to feel a little worried.

However, I gave my head a shake, because I had determined that I wasn’t going to let the numbers on the scale rule my life.  I’m going to judge my success by how I’ve been feeling instead – which is great, both mentally AND physically.

So here are my 5 Reasons Why I Won’t (allow myself to) Feel Frustrated Today

  1. I pulled on a freshly washed and dried pair of jeans, and didn’t have to lay on the bed to do them up.  (AND I can sit back down in them without losing my breath!)
  2. I put on my bra, and didn’t spill out of the cups.  (it seems that the first places I lose weight are in my face, and in my boobs)
  3. Despite not exercising as much as I wanted to, I still walked wherever I could, and despite a couple of little “treats” made healthy food choices all week.
  4. My BFF Terry is coming over tonight for a visit.  Just love spending time with her, catching up!
  5. Saturday night I will be going out to a single’s social night.  This is a huge step for me confidence wise.

So, no matter what the scale says tomorrow, it’s just a number.  It’s the NSV (non-scale victories) that I’ve had these past few weeks since starting my healthy lifestyle journey that will matter to me!

Feel free to share your 5 reasons, and let’s make it a great day AND weekend!

Oh bless you! I did all this just before I turned fifty too in July. I made some progresstoo and was ready to face the next decade. I think it’s just something you feel you need to do at this time of your life. I wish you every encouragement and success. But hey you’ll still be lovely whatever weight you are. Hi from Over 40 Blog Hop.

Hi Patricia! Thanks for commenting on my blog. I decided to check yours out as well! I loved this post – I think we spend so much time focusing on what we’re doing wrong during our weight loss journeys that it’s important to take time to celebrate and appreciate the little things that we’ve done right, even if it’s just that your bra fits better!

As for your comment about Zumba in the Circuit (from my blog), this is a national program that they are rolling out, so your local Curves may be starting it soon! You should check it out!

Hi! Your avatar caught my eye over at “Over 40 Bloggers”. Loved it!
You go girl! Keep it up! It’s a great feeling knowing you’re succeeding. Walk everywhere! I don’t get as much exercise as I like so I park out in the next county when I go to the shopping centers (ok, maybe not that far). But it’s really a plus knowing I’m burning those calories! Even on rainy days…hey, it’s only water!

It’s essential for losing weight and not get bugged down by the numbers on the scale.
